Supercharging a trader's workflow
Overview
I rebuilt an options trader's crude prototype twice, solo: first into a working product, then into a production platform connecting his portfolio and research. In use from the start.

The challenge
Connect the portfolio with the research
His positions and the research behind them needed one shared view.
Available tools and data did not fit his workflow. The first rebuild proved the product; the second made it reliable enough for his morning routine. I owned both design and development.
Decision 01
Put market signals in one view
One glance shows what changed and what needs attention.
Symbol pages combine price charts, technical indicators and options data. Prices stay fresh throughout the session without manual updates. I designed the interface and built the data behind it together, keeping the two in sync.

Decision 02
Launch with every research source
A useful research tool had to cover his full reading routine from day one.
I argued for the full pipeline in the first research release. He adds RSS, YouTube, podcasts, newsletters, X and pasted links. Each item is matched to the right stocks and turned into short, investor-focused summaries within minutes, with portfolio-relevant material surfaced first.

Decision 03
Deliver research beyond the terminal
Research reaches him without another trip to the terminal.
Briefings arrive before the market opens, at midday, after close and on weekends. Price alerts and plain-English answers come through WhatsApp, bringing the research into the routine he already follows.
Outcome
In daily use from the start
Both rebuilds went into use immediately. The production platform now runs his daily workflow, connecting positions, research, scheduled briefings and WhatsApp alerts.
